Summer has been attending Hope with her family since January 2013. She fell in love with Hope immediately, with the sincerity of the people, the truth of the message, and the passion of worship, and wanted to get connected right away.  She began volunteering in children's ministry and looked forward to her teaching Sundays.  When the Children's Pastor position opened, she heard God's call loud and clear.  Though she did not feel qualified for the position or worthy of such a title, she knew better than to disobey God.  More and more every day, she understands and rejoices in the truth that God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called. She is thankful to have been called to this.  

Summer shares her crazy, happy life with her seriously handsome and athletic husband Corey and their three giggly children, Maeve, Caden, and Xander. Their days together are messy and loud and fairly exhausting, but full to bursting with happiness. 

Before working at Hope, Summer was an elementary school teacher for thirteen years. Children have always been her mission, and she is thrilled that she gets to spend her days immersed in teaching them the love of Jesus.  She has tremendous fun in HopeKids, playing and laughing and sharing the Word with children.  Nothing could be better.
